What Regulations Are Currently Being Established By EU Countries For DMF?

EU DMF Regulations

The following laws and regulations have been issued by the following countries:


1) EU directive 2009/251/EC.


N the directive was introduced from 05 to 01 2009 and is a pitional directive.

The pition period will end on 03 2010, 15.


N the directive specifies that the content of two methyl ester (DMF) of fumarate must be less than 0.1mg/kg (0.1ppm).


2) France: in December 5, 2008, the government issued a decree to stop imports of footwear and sofa / armchair containing methyl esters of fumaric acid for at least one year, and require all products containing DMF to be removed from shelves and not to be sold in the French market.


3) Belgium: in January 2009, a decree was issued to prohibit the sale of some consumer products containing methyl esters of fumaric acid on the market.


4) Spain: in December 2008, it issued a measure to ban the consumption of methyl fumarate in all consumer products to the skin.


5) Italy: the Ministry of health has issued a decree to confiscate and test products that use DMF as mould inhibitor in Italy market.
