Bangladesh Clothing Association Says It Has Solved The Problem Of Arrears Of Wages.

The garment manufacturers association (BGMEA) said that 90% of the garment factories in 5000 garment factories have already solved the problem of arrears of wages, including overtime and holiday allowances, thus eliminating the possibility of workers' unrest.

Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, President of BGMEA, said that 90% of the factories had already cleared workers' wages, overtime pay and prepaid wages in the first half of this month.

He added that the remaining 10% of the garment manufacturers had been unable to settle their wages for arrears of workers because they wanted to ensure delivery within the time limit, but they would soon settle the arrears of workers' expenses.

The negotiations between the boss and the workers were successful, and there was no delay in the payment of the arrears.

Bangladesh garment manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is the largest clothing group in Bangladesh. The head of the association visited 845 factories across the country to understand the situation and successfully negotiated with the owners of 37 factories to solve all the chaos that may cause workers' unrest.
